This here is for a character drawing contest that I plan on participating in. The objective it to take your favourite character and draw them in another characters clothing. For this, I chose Kiba, the main character in Wolf's Rain, to be wearing the suit that Van from Gun Sword wore. Im actualy impressed with how it is coming out.
This would also be my first successful Fanart.
Updates:
Got it colored, but it scanned kind of crappy, hopefully Those at speedy printing can do something about it.
You know, when you do such fantastic drawings, it just makes me want to try harder. And I think that's why I admire you so much.
Keep doing your best, and I'll keep doing my best.
I have taken enough time away to get what I needed done. I am happy to say that I am now an Eagle Scout in Boy Scouts, and hopefully this acheivement will lead to others.
But I did not come here to talk about me, I came here to help you further down the path of being an artist. Before we begin I want to say just how good this looks compared to other things. Your increasing skill is making it harder and harder for me to critique you on your work. This is not only a benefical thing for me (helps me learn how to critique), but this is also a definite sign that your are improving.
Now, on with the show.
Kiba here suffers from a multitude of anatical problems and I'm having a hard time addressing each issue with a type of metaphor that will hold your attention, so I going to give the overall message for this and alot of the peices I've comment on for not only you, but other people as well. Think of drawing as a martial art(Tae Kwon Do for example). What is the point of practicing advanced techinques when you have not even studied the basics; what is point of punching through concrete when can not even make a simple fist. By jumping ahead of yourself, you cause more harm than help to your ability. By jumping ahead to try out more advanced techniques, rather than learning the basics, reenforce unknown flaws, rather than correct them. Sure, you'll notice these mistakes when your good enough, but by then the damage has been done and it takes a very long time to reprogram yourself to follow the rules.
I forgot mention this earlier and I beleive I might have said this before. I would like you to have a page full of sketches fom life. Now noticed how I said sketches, which means I would like to see more one. Part of your problem now is that you do these huge drawing that take up the whole page. By reducing the size of these sketches, you force yourself to make less mistakes.
hey, no problem man, and a little something about me, I have indeed trained in judo, as well as taekwondo, my parents run a studio in owosso michigan. But I do indeed see your point. I will work on getting those pics in for ya.
Thanks!!

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
This contest ends on Friday the 18th December 2009. If you want to enter, get your entries in quick! Here are all the entries so far. Also if you want to donate a prize, that would be fantastic too, just note me
